Understanding the Results and Deliverables
Major public utility lines such as electricity, gas or water
Finally, and maybe the most important thing to note in our stump grinding process is what to expect once the job has been completed:
- Customers are to expect some lawn damage due to operations of the stump grinding equipment on the lawn. Care will be taken to minimize the amount of damage & that’s our promise to you.
- All spoils of the stump grinding operation will remain. We plow, rake & / or blow most of the remains back into a pile where the stump originated. As a customer you should expect some additional cleanup. Our pricing reflects this obligation of the customer.
- In the unlikely event of a breakdown, we may be forced to leave the broken piece of equipment overnight or until we are able to get assistance from a repair or equipment service company. The equipment cannot be moved unless all the motor and hydraulic systems are functioning properly. We carry tarps and floor-dry in the event of a hydraulic leak. To date, this situation has never occurred.
- The Stump Guy does not fix, repair and cannot be held liable for any damaged underground utilities or obstructions unless you identify them in advance such as a drain field, low voltage cables, sprinkler lines, electric underground pet fences or alike. Major utility lines such as electricity, gas or water on the property are our responsibility. As such there may be a delay in getting your job started in the event, we decide to order a “Miss Dig” marking of your property.
- On a rare occasion, we may find buried inside the stump a foreign object such as a metal fence pole, rock or concrete that is not visible at the time the job was quoted. Should this be the case, we will stop the grinding process and assess the situation. Usually, we can work around these objects and ultimately get the stump ground. On rare occasions, we may not be able to completely grind the whole stump. In either case there may need to be an adjustment to the amount quoted and this will be discussed and agreed to before any additional grinding is done.
- Lastly, you can obtain a referral fee for every new customer referred to us that results in new business for The Stump Guy! Referral fees are subject to change and will be announced at the time of the referral. Call or shoot me a note in advance!
